Grilling is defined as a method of cooking over a hot grate barrier or screen. Although a simple process, grilling has fast become a popular food trend worldwide for use in entertaining and gourmet food preparation. Even the top culinary institutions are trained in the art of grilling. Baking is the art of cooking food by using convection and conduction to heat the food in an oven. The Grill Plate marries the two methods of cooking to allow you the freedom to Bake on your grill!
Sophisticated gas grills where heat is circulated with lava rock or porcelain-coated metal bars, all grills are easy to prepare and maintain. Propane and gas grills are the ideal tool for baking, saving your home cooling costs by keeping the heat out of the kitchen!
So Easy!
- Clean your Grill and empty and clean the “Grease Trap” thoroughly prior to baking.
- Set your BBQ grill to the appropriate temperature for the dish you are baking.

- As with any oven, do not open the grill lid unnecessarily during baking if you are cooking a cake or other item that may “fall”.
- Due to the convection properties of the Grill Plate, Cakes that require a cooking time of over 20 minutes should be cooked at 25 degrees less than the recommended temperature.
Prior to baking while on high heat, use a stiff wire grill brush to clean off your grill before each coarse is cooked and again when you are finished cooking. If you do not have a stiff wire brush, a crumpled piece of aluminum foil will work as well.. ALWAYS REMOVE AND CLEAN THE DRIP PAN BEFORE BAKING! Make sure that your gas grill has an accurate working thermometer and test it with a secondary thermometer to determine it’s accuracy if possible.
